Dr Subhasis Basu is a fellowship-trained Consultant Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine Radiologist. He completed his medical training at St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospital School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of London, before undertaking postgraduate training in Clinical Radiology in Manchester and the North West of England. He then completed a dedicated Musculoskeletal and Sports Imaging Fellowship at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.

Dr Basu specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions using advanced imaging techniques, including X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI. He performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations alongside a wide range of ultrasound-guided therapeutic procedures, treating patients with joint, tendon and soft tissue conditions, from elite professional athletes to those with everyday musculoskeletal problems.

He works closely with orthopaedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians, rheumatologists and other healthcare professionals, believing that multidisciplinary collaboration provides the highest standard of patient care.

* Minimally invasive treatments for osteoarthritis, tendinopathies, trigger fingers and frozen shoulder

* Arthrosamid®, PRP, hyaluronic acid and corticosteroid injections

* Dry needling, tendon stripping and percutaneous trigger finger release

    * Ultrasound-guided PRP injections for tendinopathy and joint osteoarthritis

Research & Education

Dr Basu has a strong interest in research and medical education. He regularly reviews articles for peer-reviewed scientific journals and lectures at national and international scientific meetings. He is currently President-Elect of the Manchester Medical Society Section of Imaging and MSK Faculty Lead for Educate by Medica.
